Subject: A catalog site for Classic TV shows
If you like Classic TV from of the 50's, I found a catalog site that makes it easy to find and watch episodes streaming from Archive.org at:
The Classic TV Channel
There are currently over 400 individual episodes of about 30 different programs, and the site is growing day by day. Check it out!
Subject: LAWRENCE WELK JACK BENNY
I LOVE IT
Subject: Another incorrect airdate!!
The correct airdate for this Jack Benny Program is not 1954. The episode (guest starring Lawrence Welk) first aired on October 23, 1962.
It seems whoever was nice enough to upload these should check their facts first.
Subject: Great Episode, But Ruined by obnoxious editing
When "The Jack Benny Program" first aired, Each episode had 26 minutes of show and 4 minutes of commercials. When the show entered syndication, This was changed to 23 minutes of show (Removing all traces of Lucky Strike's sponsorship, and chopping off at least one scene). But I have never seen an episode edited this much, removing Jack Benny's stand-up sketch, and almost every trace of the era it was made. I'm not surprised this is a modern syndication print, It seems like all old shows are severely edited when they are re-run these days. I can understand them removing the Lucky Strike references, But this is missing a whopping 6 minutes of the show itself. If you don't mind that, This is a great episode, But remember that it has lost most of it's historic value.
